Foootball Team Has Noisy Thursday

Aug. 23, 2002

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – With pumped in crowd noise blaring across Greentree Practice Field on the University of Miami campus, the Hurricanes prepared for some of the inclement conditions they will face during the upcoming season during Thursday’s practice.

Coach Larry Coker noted that the noise was not intended as a warm-up for any other game than next Saturday’s contest against the Florida A&M Rattlers.

“We worked today on some corrections of (last night’s scrimmage) … we had a good workout today,” Coker said. “We also started working on our opponent. It was a good day for us lot of learning went on and we’ve got a lot of work to do and we’ve got a shortened up time to do it in. As you know a week from Saturday is kickoff time.”

The Hurricanes first game of the season is Saturday, August 31, with a 7 p.m. kickoff time at the Orange Bowl.
