July 1, 2002

Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The BIG EAST Conference has announced the cross-divisional men’s basketball league games for the 2002-03 season. These match-ups will supplement each team’s 12 divisional games.

Each BIG EAST team plays a 16-game conference schedule. The BIG EAST consists of two seven-team divisions with each divisional opponent meeting on a home-and-home basis. Each team then plays four games against teams from the other division.

Miami’s divisional opponents are Boston College, Connecticut, Providence, St. John’s, Villanova and Virginia Tech. The Hurricanes’ crossover games will consist of home clashes with Georgetown and Syracuse, and road contests versus Seton Hall and West Virginia.

This season will mark the first since 1999-00 that perennial powers Georgetown and Syracuse have both traveled to Miami in the same season.

Dates and times have yet to be determined.
