Ronal Lincey, Albany, Ga to Jeremy Shockey:
In the ‘year of the tight-end’ you were definetely the king of the hill. Everyone knows you can run and catch but what was overlooked was your blocking ability as well. Good luck as a pro and thanks for helping the ‘Canes run the table kid! Love, Peace, and Hair grease!
Ronal
Melissa Gilbert, Summit Hill, Pa. to Ken Dorsey: I’m glad your comming back next season.
Larry Burkett, Youngstown, Ohio to Those that cared enough to give of their very best:University of Miami-2001National Champions of Baseball and Football
How unique and wonderful that sounds!
That title will echo throughout the football world for as long as records are kept and in each Hurricanes psyche forever. Many congratulations to President Donna Shalala, Eye of the Hurricane Paul Dee and the #1 head Coach Larry Coker and his dedicated staff of coaches like Coach Art Kehoe and all of the other coaches that are truly champions in their own right! Last but not least to the guys that made it all happen for us Miami fans, the magnificent players on their successful yearlong mission to dominate their opponents and secure final victory in the Rose Bowl.
Now be of good cheer, for even though we have lost some outstanding players to graduation and early outs to the Miami club, the NFL, we have more than a few excellent players left to hold the line. And additionally it seems that the coaches will be working hard to bring in some outstanding talents to join in the company of Ken Dorsey and friends as they go out on the field of engagement during the 2002 season.
As a long time Hurricane fan, I can also rejoice in the fact that William “Chief” Joseph has decided to stay and lead the charge.
Go ‘Canes-National Champions in deed and character.
