MIAMI (AP)John Salmons had 15 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds tolead the Miami Hurricanes to their 11th straight win, a 64-56 victory overCharlotte on Saturday night.

Salmons was one rebound shy of becoming the first player in school historyto have a triple-double. The senior guard fouled out with 59 seconds left,leaving as the first Miami player with back-to-back games with double-digitassists.

With 3:58 remaining, Salmons connected on a pair of free throws that gavehim 1,001 career points. The four-year starter ranks 24th on the school’sscoring list.

Darius Rice had 13 points and Elton Tyler added 10 points. Miami (11-0)blocked a season-high-tying nine shots.

The Hurricanes are off to their best start ever and the 11-game winningstreak is their longest since the 1959-60 season.

Charlotte (5-5) had beaten Miami three straight seasons, including a 95-63rout last year.

Eddie Basden led the 49ers with 12 points. Jobey Thomas and Cam Stephensadded 10 points apiece.

Charlotte had its second worst shooting performance of the season, hittingjust 32 percent from the field and 4-of-26 from 3-point range.

Early in the first half, the Hurricanes used an 11-2 run and led 16-8 onRafael Berumen’s layup. Miami led 30-23 at the half.

Charlotte closed to within four points in the opening minutes of the secondhalf on Demon Brown’s 3-point basket, but the Hurricanes went on an 8-3 run andled by as many as 14 points in the closing minutes.
