New Year’s Eve Party
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Pasadena with the Hurricanes! The New Year’s Eve party will be held at the Century Plaza Hotel and Spa (Los Angeles ballroom). Cocktail hour begins at 7:00p.m., and dinner at 8:00p.m. Enjoy an elegant four course dinner, balloon drop, live band and a champagne toast to ring in the New Year. The dress code is cocktail attire. Tickets are $135 and can be ordered by calling the Hurricane Club by December 22 at 1-800-GO-CANES (option 4).

January 1, 2002

2002 Tournament of Roses
The 113th Rose Parade, themed Good Times, will take place on Tuesday, January 1, 2002 at 8:00 a.m. (PST) featuring majestic floral floats, high-stepping equestrian units and spirited marching bands from throughout the nation. Watch Party
On January 1st, catch this free college Bowl Game action with the rest of the Hurricane fans at the mezzanine level of the Century Plaza Hotel, starting at Noon. Games will include the Cotton Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Fiesta Bowl just to name a few. Get in the spirit for the Rose Bowl with Hurricane drink specials, food and exciting football. Pep Rally
Join Hurricane fans at the Century Plaza Hotel on January 1, 2002 and celebrate the New Year, “Hurricane Style.” Cheer on Head Coach Larry Coker, Ed Reed and Ken Dorsey as they prepare for their biggest game of the year. Join the Band of the Hour, Cheerleaders, Sunsations and past Hurricane Greats in this special celebration! Witness guest speakers, never before seen video highlights and great commentary by Hurricane legends, Marc Vandermeer and Don Bailey, Jr.

The Pep Rally will take place on January 1st at 3:30 PM in front of the Century Plaza Hotel. The time has changed from 4:00 to 3:30 due to another engagement members of the team will take part in later that day. We hope that all Hurricane fans in Pasadena will join in for this free extravagant event, as we wish the Miami Hurricanes good luck in the 2002 National Championship game.

Directions to Century Plaza Hotel:

Directions from North: Take Highway 101 South to I-405 South. Exit I-405 onto Santa Monica Blvd. and turn left. Turn right onto Avenue of the Stars. The hotel is located 2 blocks ahead on the right.

Directions from South: Take I-5 North to I-405. Follow I-405 North to Santa Monica Blvd. and turn right. Proceed 2 miles to Avenue of the Stars and turn right. The hotel is located 2 blocks ahead on the right.

Directions from East: Take I-10 West past downtown Los Angeles. Exit Overland Avenue and turn right. Proceed 1 mile to Pico and turn right. Proceed 1 mile to Avenue of the Stars. Turn left on Avenue of the Stars.

Directions from West: From Los Angeles International Airport, take Century Blvd. East to San Diego Freeway (I-405) North and exit at Santa Monica Blvd. Turn right onto Santa Monica Blvd. and proceed 2 miles to Avenue of the Stars. Turn right and the hotel is located 2 blocks ahead on the right.

Kick-off Luncheon
Meet and dine with the student athletes, coaches and media at the Rose Bowl for a noon lunch! Listen to the marching band and cheer with the cheerleaders for a big CANES victory! January 3, 2002

Pre-game Tailgate Party
Join fellow Hurricane fans and friends at the Official University of Miami Rose Bowl Pre-game Tailgate Party at the Rose Bowl on the golf course from 1-4:00. Enjoy great food, unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks as well as live music to get into that Hurricane spirit. Tickets are $55. Call the Alumni Association at 305-284-2872 for tickets.

2002 Rose Bowl National Championship Game
The University of Miami vs. The Nebraska Cornhuskers – Kick off is at 5:00 PM PST and televised live on ABC. Stadium gates open at 2:30 PM – Pre-game activities will begin at 4:30 PM.
