Geroux Leads Women's Cross Country to Victory

Miami, FL (hurricanesports.com) – Senior Jennifer Geroux (Balto, MD) recorded her first career victory to lead the University of Miami women’s cross country team to a first-place finish at the Greentree Invitational held Friday evening at Larry and Penny Thompson Park in Miami, FL.
Miami (20 points) wins for the second time this season. Florida Atlantic (53 points) finished second while Florida International was third (55 points).
Geroux completed the 5,000-meter course in a time of 20:18.47, easily outdistancing Rebecca Rodriguez (FIU) who took second with a time of 20:42.07.
Overall the Hurricanes had six runners finish in the top eight individually as junior Megan Dwyer finished third (21:32.34), freshman Lauren Diaz took fourth (21:48.52), freshman Dionne Richards finished fifth (21:51.12), freshman Michelle White finished seventh (22:03.63), and freshman Marilyn Ruiz took eighth (22:19.38).
The Hurricanes return to action on Friday, October 26 when they travel to New York for the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships.
