Whittaker Takes Fourth In 400-Meters For USA Junior Nationals

Stoke-On-Trent, England – University of Miami junior Saraque Whittaker (Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas) finished fourth in the 400-meters with a time of 55.33 to help the United State Junior National team to a 201-176 win over Great Britain in a dual meet in Stoke-On-Trent, England.
Whittaker, the school-record holder in the 400-meters, qualified for the team with a second-place finish in the 400-meters at the USA Track and Field Junior National Championships, June 16-17, in Richmond, VA.
Team USA will continue onto Edinburgh, Scotland for a second competition, the Edinburgh International Games, on August 26. The United States will face junior athletes from Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
The USA Junior National team is coached by UM head women’s track and field coach Amy Deem.
