Tennis Player Alanna Broderick Named April Academic All-Star

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – Senior Alanna Broderick is a standout member of the women’s tennis team. She has been selected as the April University of Miami Athletic Department Academic All-Star after maintaining a cumulative 3.16 GPA in Marketing in the School of Business.

The native of St. Andrew, Jamaica is a four-year letterwinner and was named to the Dean’s List last semester after posting a 3.67 GPA.

She compiled a 10-2 record as a freshman and had the deciding straight set victory at No. 6 singles over Notre Dame her freshman season that handed UM its fifth conference title.She won her singles flight championship at the 1998 Gator Fall Classic and finished her sophomore season with a 25-15 singles record and a 22-10 doubles record.

She compiled a 20-17 record at No. 1-2-3 singles and a 12-13 doubles record last season and is 6-7 this season at No. 1 singles and 11-15 overall.
