Penrose, Scott Lead Hurricanes At Texas Relays

Austin, TX (www.hurricanesports.com) – Miami freshman Jennifer Penrose (Mesa, AR) finished seventh in the shot put while junior Raquel Scott (Dallas, TX) took seventh in the triple jump to lead the Hurricanes at the 74th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, TX.

Penrose registered a season best throw of 14.37 meters (47-01.75) in recording her fourth top-10 finish this season. Scott recorded a triple jump of 12.33 meters (40-05.50) marking the second time in the last three competitions she has recorded a jump of over 40 feet.

Other Hurricanes competing on Friday were freshman Dore Madere (Dallas, TX) who finished 14th in the discus (43.86 meters) and junior Kareen Clarke (Lithonic, GA) who took 10th in the long jump (5.86 meters).

Competition at the Texas Relays concludes on Saturday.
