UM Women Runners Head To Texas Relays

Austin, TX (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s track and field team will battle some of the nation’s top track programs this weekend at the 74th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, TX.

The meet will have competitors from 16 of the top-25 ranked teams in the latest Trackwire Top-25 poll including No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 BYU, No. 4 South Carolina, No. 5 LSU, No. 6 Arizona, No. 7 Arkansas and No. 9 Texas.

Senior All-American Natalie Watson (Coral Springs) will lead the Hurricanes. Watson earned All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the 800-meters at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships and is currently ranked third in the nation in the 800-meters this outdoor season.

Miami’s third ranked 4×400-meter relay of junior Jenise Winston (League City, TX), sophomore Jamillah Wade (Philadelphia, PA), sophomore Saraque Whittaker (Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas and freshman Kitoya Carter (Miami Northwestern) will also be in action this weekend.

Following the Texas Relays, Miami returns home the Miami Gatorade Track and Field Classic at Cobb Stadium for Soccer, Track and Field in Coral Gables, FL.
