No. 35 Women's Tennis Edges No. 55 Clemson, 4-3

CORAL GABLES, Fla.– Miami’s 35th-ranked women’s tennis team avenged last season’s loss to Clemson Tuesday with a solid 4-3 victory over the 55th-ranked Tigers at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
With the win, UM improves to 11-5 on the season, while Clemson falls to 6-8.
Miami took the opening doubles point in the match in exciting fashion. After the teams had traded wins at the bottom two positions, UM’s duo of Alanna Broderick and Katia Bogomolova held off Clemson’s team of Anna Dolinska and Laurence Jayet 9-8 (2) at No. 1.
Broderick defeated Christina Oldock 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Bogomolova won at No. 4 singles with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Jayet.
The match-clincher for UM was then provided by junior Marcy Hora, who won 6-0, 6-4 over Milena Stanoytcheva at the No. 3 spot.
The Hurricanes are back in action Monday at 12:30 p.m. traveling to take on NC State.
