Sept. 28, 2000

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – A two-hour practice under threatening skies was the order of the day for the Miami Hurricanes as the team completed its third full day of workouts at the Greentree Practice Field in preparations for Saturday’s clash with Rutgers.

“We’re going according to plan and the rains didn’t get us, so I’m pleased,” said head coach Butch Davis. “We need to maintain our focus and we’ve stressed that to the guys. They’ve worked hard this week and, hopefully, that will translate into continued improvement on the field.”

The workout focused on finalizing the game plan for Saturday night’s contest, slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff Saturday evening. WPLG, Channel 10 will televise the game live in the Miami area.

The Hurricanes will go through a short closed practice Friday at Greentree before departing for New Jersey in the afternoon. All practices are closed to the public.
