Aug. 29, 2000

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami Hurricanes underwent a two-hour, non-contact practice Tuesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Field.

“We’re about as ready as we can be for the opener,” said Hurricanes’ head coach Butch Davis. “I think our people have looked at enough film to know everything they need to know. It will just be a matter of blocking and tackling and executing.”

The Hurricanes open the 2000 season Thursday night against McNeese State at the Orange Bowl with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. Good seats remain for the opener and the UM Ticket Office announced Tuesday that all remaining tickets (including reserved and general admission seats) are available for $7 and may be pre-purchased at the Hurricane Ticket Office (5821 San Amaro Drive in Coral Gables) or Thursday at the Orange Bowl prior to kickoff.

Practice continues Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. All practices are closed to the public. For further ticket information concerning Hurricanes football, contact the UM Ticket Office at (305) 284-2263 or 1-800-GO-CANES. Tickets may also be ordered online at www.hurricanesports.com.
