Hurricanes Release Preseason Practice Schedule

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The Miami Hurricanes begin intensive work for the 2000 football season with two-a-day practices beginning Thursday, August 10. Freshmen players report Saturday, Aug. 5, and the varsity returnees report to camp on Tuesday, Aug. 8. Full-squad two-a-day practices begin two days later. Practices will be open to the public from Aug. 10 to Aug. 18. The Hurricanes begin the 2000 football season Thursday night, Aug. 31, when UM hosts McNeese State at 7:30 p.m. at the Orange Bowl.

Here’s a summary of UM’s 2000 preseason football practice schedule:

Aug. 5: Freshmen report

Aug. 6-8: Freshmen two-a-day practices (8:30 a.m. & 3:30 p.m.)

Aug. 8: Varsity returnees report

Aug. 9: Hurricanes Media Day (news media only)

Two-A-Days (Aug. 10-22)

Aug. 10-18: 8:30 a.m. & 3:30 p.m. – open to the public

Aug. 23: Off Day (classes begin)

Aug. 24-30: Regular practice

Aug. 31: Miami vs. McNeese State (7:30 p.m.)
