Miami Football Practice Report

Dec. 22, 2000

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The Miami Hurricanes practiced for almost two hours in full pads Thursday morning at the Greentree Practice Fields on the University of Miami campus, continuing preparations for their upcoming Nokia Sugar Bowl clash with the Florida Gators on January 2 in New Orleans.

“We decided to move the practice to the morning to allow the guys the afternoon to relax, run some errands, or get caught up on some Christmas shopping,” said head coach Butch Davis. “They’ve really worked hard this week. We’ve simulated a typical work week like you’d see in the NFL with lots of film study and meetings leading up to the afternoon practices. The players really deserved this afternoon away from football. It will allow them to decompress a little.”

Miami wraps up pre-holidays practices with another workout slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. After that practice, the players will leave for their respective homes for the holiday break before reconvening in New Orleans on Tuesday, Dec. 26.
