More thanks for the seniors
Nov. 27, 2000
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – Even though they’ve played their last home game at the Orange Bowl, the response has been overwelming.
Thanks to our loyal fans who’ve supported us throughout our careers and especially all season long!
The Hurricane Football Class of 2000
To All Seniors from Michael D. Lariosa, Robins Air Force Base, GA
Congratulations on an outstanding collegiate career, and the fabulous accomplishment of returning the ‘Canes into serious contenders for the National Championship. You deserve to be in that game this year.
I was especially proud of you guys the way you stuffed the ‘noles, keeping them scoreless in the first half, and then going on to make a fantastic comeback to win the game. True Champions. I always thought that it was pretty low class of them when they ran up the score on you guys a couple of years ago up in Tallahassee, while you guys were a relatively young team. We can all look forward to next year when next year’s ‘Canes go up there and put an end to that home winning streak of theirs.
Good luck to you in the future, may the Lord bless your dreams and wishes, and thanks for all your work. It makes being a “Miami Hurricane” something special.
Mike Lariosa
UM Class of ’83
All Seniors from Liz Smith, Miramar, FL
Thank you seniors for all you’ve done to bring Miami back to it’s best. I look foward to watching those of you that decide to go pro.
Congratulations!

All Hurricanes Seniors from Joel Marable, Richmond/VA
Thanks for the excellent play this season. You guys make us all proud to be Hurricances fans. Anyone that knows college football realizes that you all should be ranked ahead of Florida St. in the BCS. If you dont pass Florida St. in the BCS I wont even bother watching the national championship game. In that scenario, hopefully Florida St. (Yes, the Florida St. that you guys decisively beat in October) will defeat Oklahoma so that the AP will award you all the national championship. Good luck Canes
Dan Morgan from Tom Ouverson, Sebring, Fla
Hang in there Dan, the trophy will come your way. Good luck in today’s game. Tom
Dan Morgan from Bob Moser, Santa Rosa, CA
As a longtime follower of Hurricane football, dating back to the days of Ted Hendricks and George Mira, I have rooted for you guys through the good times as well as the bad times. I am thrilled to see the Canes back on top-keep up the good work and don’t let down against Boston College today! I am a former resident of Ft. Lauderdale, and a graduate of Northeast High. Good luck to the Canes with the BCS standings and good luck to you in what will surely be a successful NFL career.
Dan Morgan from Lisa, Winnipeg, MB, Canada

Dan Morgan from Jared Harmon, Miramar, Florida
First I would like to say that it’s been fun watching you play these past 4 years as a Hurricane. Also I really hope that we could make it to the National Championship this year, We deserve it… I think that you have lead the team single handedly to several Miami victorys and I am really thrilled to see a player on defense that can do that…Good luck in the pros.
Santana Moss from Dan Williams, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Dear Mr. MossI have to say I am your biggest fan. I have watched you since you were a freshman and you have always been my favorite player on the Canes. My parents went to UM so I have like the hurricanes all my life. My entire room is green and orange and I mostly have framed pictures of you. Also I have your jersey with MOSS on the back. I think I am going to frame it.
Leonard B. Myers aka “Dude” from PATRICK A. GRINAGE SR., Fairbanks, Alaska

Dan Morgan, Santana Moss, Al Blades, Damion Lewis, Reggie Wayne, James Jackson et. al. and the class of 2000 Hurricanes from Dick Donnelly, Ft. Myers, FL
Congratulations! You 17 seniors of the UM class of 2000 will undoubtably be judged as one of, if not the most, important contributors to the lore of Miami football-and that’s no small lifetime accomplishment. Regardless of the final result of this season’s effort (and I believe it will be National Championship # 5) you will forever be seen as the group that put their college careers on the line for UM. Be proud of your accomplishments and may they be just a beginning of successful careers and lives for each of you.
Dan Morgan + All the Seniors from Michael, Wichita, Ks.
Congrats to all of you. Go out and play your very best, this is the last time you will be playing in the Orange Bowl. Destroy the competition, it doesn’t matter who it is. I am confident you will be playing in the BCS Championship Game! Keep your heads up and play like you know how. There would be no better present for you seniors than to win a National Championship. Keep the pressure on and go (win some games)! Hurricane fan for life.
Michael McGaugh
All Seniors from Bryce W., Miami, Fl
Fellas its been a pleasure watching you guys play these past few yrs. and rebuild the Hurricane legacy that the NCAA tried to snatch away. I am glad to see that you guys decided to take it upon yourselves to be ‘REAL CANES’ and stick through the tough times when all the fakers decided to go elsewhere such as FSU, UF, etc. I look forward to seeing ya’ll on Sunday afternoons having an impact in the NFL (hopefully some of ya’ll can stay down here and wear aqua and orange). Best wishes to ya’ll and ya’ll are the 2000 NCAA National Champs in Division 1-A football regardless of some stupid BCS poll. Peace!
Die Hard ‘Cane,
Bryce
All Seniors from Lizeth Rios, Miami, FL
Thank you for putting forth 110% effort at everything you guys do. You have helped turn this team into a winner again! I have been a Hurricane football fan for 10 years and this is perhaps the most excitement I have felt when going to the Orange Bowl. No matter what the BCS says we the fans appreciate your talents and our undying cheers and support show all that. Good luck to all of you – may you guys be successful in the NFL or whatever path you choose – I will be proud to say I went to school with all of you!!!! :0)

Thank you again for the memories!
