Enthusiastic Hurricanes Prepare For Orangemen

Nov. 16, 2000

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – Spirits were high as the Miami Hurricanes (ranked 2nd by Associated Press and in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Rankings) worked out for more than two hours Wednesday afternoon as preparations continued for their upcoming game with the Syracuse Orangemen. The Hurricanes and Orangemen meet Saturday night in the Carrier Dome in a nationally televised (ESPN) game that kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

“We’ve had a real tough task facing us this week in preparing for Syracuse,” said head coach Butch Davis. “Both offensively and defensively, Syracuse is one of the most complex teams we face. Their multiple option looks on offense pose a tough challenge defensively and their talent on the defensive side is something our offense will have to deal with. Factor in the crowd in the Carrier Dome and you have quite a mix of factors. It should be a test for us.”

The Hurricanes continue practice for the Syracuse game Thursday afternoon at Greentree at 3:30 p.m. All practices are closed to the public. Tickets remain for the Nov. 25 home finale against Boston College. For ticket information concerning Hurricanes football, contact the UM Ticket Office at (305) 284-2263 or 1-800-GO-CANES.
