Nov. 14, 2000

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The Miami Hurricanes (ranked 2nd by Associated Press and in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ rankings) practiced for more than two hours Tuesday afternoon in their first full-scale practice in preparation for their clash with the Syracuse Orangemen. The Hurricanes and Orangemen square off Saturday night in the Carrier Dome in a nationally televised (ESPN) game that kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

“Syracuse is a dangerous, talented team and we have a real sense of urgency this week,” said head coach Butch Davis. “This is a big game for both of us. All of our goals are still in front of us and we have two very good football games remaining. This will be a difficult test for us, playing in the Carrier Dome in front of a boisterous crowd.”

The Hurricanes continue practice for the Syracuse game Wednesday afternoon at Greentree at 3:30 p.m. All practices are closed to the public. Tickets remain for the Nov. 25 home finale against Boston College. For ticket information concerning Hurricanes football, contact the UM Ticket Office at (305) 284-2263 or 1-800-GO-CANES.
