Hurricanes Receive Votes In Preseason Polls

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s basketball teamreceived two votes in the preseason Associated Press college basketball pollwhile garnering four votes in the preseason ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.
Miami returns eight letterman including one starter from lastseason’s team that finished 23-11, won the BIG EAST regular seasonchampionship and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament forthe first time in school history.
Last season the Hurricanes ended the season ranked 23rd by theAssociated Press and 20th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.
Miami opens its regular season on the road against Florida Atlanticon November 18 before returning home to face Columbia in its home opener at7:30 p.m. on November 21 at Miami Arena.
