Oct. 26, 2000

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The Miami Hurricanes continued work for their upcoming game with Louisiana Tech with a 90-minute practice in full pads Thursday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Field on the University of Miami campus. The Hurricanes host the Bulldogs Saturday night with kickoff slated for 6 p.m.

“This has been a good week for us,” said head coach Butch Davis. “We’re ready to play. It will be a challenge for us in a lot of ways as we are playing an opponent that really likes to take chances and pressure you on both sides of the line of scrimmage. But our guys have practiced hard this week and we’re ready to get at it again.”

Davis announced that defensive tackle Damione Lewis, who missed the Temple game with a toe injury, will return to the starting lineup Saturday night barring any further problems. Also, Davis said the cornerback Leonard Myers (foot injury) could start and most likely will play. Davis said Myers’ status remains a game-time decision.

Miami’s game against Louisiana Tech will not be televised live, but can be seen on tape delay on Fox Sports Net Florida on Monday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m. The Hurricanes continue practice Friday afternoon at Greentree at 4 p.m. All practices are closed to the public.
