Miami Prepares for Temple

Oct. 17, 2000

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The Miami Hurricanes stepped up preparations for Saturday’s clash with the Temple Owls with a two-hour practice Tuesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Field on the UM campus. The Hurricanes, ranked 4th by Associated Press and 5th in the ESPN/USA Today rankings this week, worked in full pads for the duration of the practice held under sunny skies in pleasant temperatures.

“It was good practice today, especially considering the time we had off,” said head coach Butch Davis. “I liked the focus that our kids came back to work with. They came back with the intention of getting better. We’re still a young football team and, as guys get injured, young guys get more playing time. We’re not the team we want to become, but the players have the attitude to get us there.”

Miami’s game against Temple will be televised live by WPLG-TV Channel 10 on the BIG EAST network beginning at Noon Eastern Time. The Hurricanes resume practice Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Greentree. All practices are closed to the public. For ticket information concerning Hurricanes football, contact the UM Ticket Office at (305) 284-2263 or 1-800-GO-CANES.
