UM Soccer Downs St. John's 2-1

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–Jenny Sanchez (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) came off of the bench to score both goals for the University of Miami women’s soccer team leading them to a 2-1 victory over BIG EAST opponent St. John’s Firday night in New York.
UM improves to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in conference action, the Red Storm fall to 5-4 overall and 0-1 in conference.
St. John’s scored first on a corner kick that Marissa Stork knocked in at 33:38. UM answered back with a goal by Sanchez at 42:51 on a pass from Nicole Safran (Harrison City, Penn.) to tie the game one all.
Sanchez scored the game winning goal at 59:56 on a pass from Ashley West (Allen, Texas).
UM moves to 2-0 all-time versus the Red Storm.
St. John’s had 11 shots, UM had nine, including seven in the second half.
UM is back in action Sunday afternoon traveling to Storrs, Conn. to face the Huskies of #25 Connecticut at 1 p.m.
