Miami Finalizing Strategy For BIG EAST Opener

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – With their BIG EAST Conference opener just two days away, the Hurricanes of the University of Miami continued an intense week of practices Thursday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields on the UM campus. The Hurricanes, ranked 12th by Associated Press and 14th in the ESPN/USA Today poll, take on unbeaten West Virginia Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in Morgantown, WV.
Davis and the Hurricanes are eager to open conference action as Miami begins its 10th season of BIG EAST football action. The Hurricanes are 6-3 in conference openers. The Hurricanes enter the 2000 BIG EAST season with the league’s best winning percentage in conference games (.818, 45-10-0).
The Hurricanes will have a short practice Friday before departing for West Virginia later in the day. All practices are closed to the public.
