Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s soccer team will enter its third season of competition with the nation’s 14th-ranked recruiting class according to the 2000 SoccerBuzz web-site recruiting class rankings.

In addition to receiving the No. 14 national ranking, SoccerBuzz also tabbed UM’s third-ever recruiting class No. 4 in the Southeast Region. Last season, the 1999 recruits received a No. 10 national ranking from SoccerBuzz and No. 3 in the Southeast.

“We are very excited to receive that type of recognition for two consecutive seasons,” said Blankenship. “The University of Miami is very committed to women’s soccer and we look forward to enjoying a very successful 2000 season.”

Miami, which posted a 12-8-0 record in its second season in 1999, will open up the 2000 season against 1998 National Champion Florida at Cobb Stadium on the UM campus on August 27.
