Hurricanes To Attend Big East Media Day

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – Miami’s Butch Davis at the 2000 Big East Football Kickoff Lunch Thursday, July 27, in New York City.

The six UM gridders will represent the Hurricanes at the event that marks the official beginning of the league’s 2000 season. Stars representing Miami’s seven Big East football opponents will be joining the Hurricanes at the media gala, including Virginia Tech’s Michael Vick, West Virginia’s Khori Ivy, Pittsburgh’s Latef Grim and Boston College’s Cedric Washington.

Entering its 10th season of competition in the Big East, Miami hopes to build on a successful tradition in conference play this season. Since starting Big East play in 1991, UM has won four league football titles (more than any other Big East institution) while winning more games (45) in league play and compiling the league’s best winning percentage (.818, 45-10).
