Miami Women Take Eighth At Penn Relays

Philadelphia, PA – The University of Miami women’s 4×400-meter relay finished eighth with a time of 3:41.11 in the College Women’s 4×400 Championship of America at the 106th Penn Relays Carnival in Philadelphia, PA.

The Hurricane relay, which is ranked 15th in the nation, consists of sophomore Jenise Winston (League City, TX), junior Wyllesheia Myrick (Miami Southridge), freshman Patricia Pearson (Jacksonville, FL) and freshman Saraque Whittaker (Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas).

The championship boasted some of the nation’s top ranked relays including No. 2 Texas, No. 3 South Carolina, No. 5 Rice, No. 9 Georgetown and No. 26 Florida. South Carolina won the title (3:30.04) with Texas finishing second (3:31.95).

The Penn Relays are the final tune-up for the Hurricanes before the BIG EAST Championships, May 5-7, in New Brunswick, NJ.
