Women Head To NCAA Indoors

CORAL GABLES, FL – The University of Miami women’s track team will send 10 qualifiers to Indianapolis, IN to compete in the 2000 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 10-11.

The Hurricanes are led by junior Wyllesheia Myrick, who qualified in the 55-meters (6.90), the 60-meters (7.44), the 200-meters (24.20), and the 4×400-meter relay (3:41.21). Myrick is joined on the 4×400-meter relay team by sophomore Jenise Winston, freshmen Patricia Pearson and Saraque Whittaker.

Also competing at the 2000 NCAA Indoors for Miami are senior Danika Dodds, juniors Natalie Watson and Antonnikka Owens and sophomores Kareen Clarke and Sharianne Lawson.

Clarke and Owens qualified in the triple jump with leaps of 13.19 and 12.82 meters, while Watson and Dodds both qualified in the 800-meters with times of 2:07.42 and 2:09.97. Lawson qualified in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.83 for the Hurricanes.
