Hemsley, Bland Earn All-Conference Men's Hoops Honors

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — University of Miami senior guard Johnny Hemsleywas named second-team All-BIG EAST and senior center Mario Bland wasselected third-team All-Conference by a vote of the leagues coaches.
Hemsley, who has scored in double figures in 50 consecutive games,leads the Hurricanes and ranks fourth in the conference in scoring at 18.2points per game. Hemsley currently ranks seventh on Miami’s career scoringlist with 1,410 points.
Bland, the BIG EAST Player of the Week for the week ending March 5,ranks second on the team in scoring (12.8 ppg) and leads the team inrebounding (7.0 rpg). In Miami’s last two games Bland is averaging 19.5points and 8.5 rebounds per contest.
