The University of Miami women’s basketball team (11-13, 5-8 BIG EAST) fell to host Georgetown (14-10, 7-6 BIG EAST) 66-61 in conference action Saturday.

Miami led by as many as 11 points in the game, but were unable to hold off a late Hoya rally. Nok Duany converted a three-point play with 3:45 left to cut the Hurricanes lead to 60-59. Camilla Osth hit one-of-two from the free throw line to counter before the Hoyas went ahead for good with 3:03 to play when Lesley Walker sank a 3-pointer. The Hoyas held Miami without a point for the game’s final 3:18 and to just 19 points in the second half.

Miami led 42-35 at halftime thanks in large part to Alicia Hartlaub who scored all 16 of her points in the first half, sinking seven of her 12 attempts from the field. Hartlaub also grabbed eight rebounds in the game.

Gina Graziani led Miami with 18 points and eight assists. Meghan Saake chipped in with 12 markers and six dishes.

Miami continues on the road to face No. 5 Notre Dame on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
