Women's Cross Country Finishes Eighth At Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore Jennifer Geroux (Balto, MD) finished16th in a time of 19:19.78 to lead the University of Miami women’s crosscountry team to an eighth-place finish at the Gator Invitational inGainesville, FL.

Miami, which placed three runners in the top-60, finished with 209points. Florida, the host school, finished with 26 points to win the teamtitle. Central Florida’s Sonja Shedden (17:52.21) won the individual title.

Other Hurricanes running well included seniors Leatrice Shaw(Philadelphia, PA) who finished 31st (19:47.28) and Danika Dodds (Miami, FL)who took 55th (20:36.92).

The Hurricanes returns to action on October 16th when they travel toTampa, FL for the State Cross Country Championships. Miami looks to improveon last season’s second-place finish.
