Morgan, Moss Receive Honors From Touchdown Club Of Columbus (OH)

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) — – University of Miami senior linebacker Dan Morgan and senior wide receiver Santana Moss were each honored by the Touchdown Club of Columbus (OH) as the Player of the Year at their respective positions.

Morgan has recently been named a first-team All-American by the FWAA, Football News, The Sporting News and Walter Camp Football Foundation. He was also a unanimous selection for 2000 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year honors, as well as making his third straight appearance on the All-BIG EAST team. Morgan is also a finalist for the Butkus and Bednarik defensive awards, along with Football News Defensive Player of the Year.

Moss, the winner of the Touchdown Club of Columbus’ Paul Warfield Trophy, was named the BIG EAST Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Year. It was the first time one player has earned both league awards. Moss has also been named a first-team All-American by the FWAA, Football News, The Sporting News and Walter Camp Foundation.

The BIG EAST Champion Miami Hurricanes will play state-rival and SEC Champion Florida in the 2001 Nokia Sugar Bowl on Tuesday, January 2 at the Louisiana Superdome.
