Hurricane Brad Matthews wins Most Improved Award

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) — – Congratulations to Ticket Sales rep Brad Matthews!

A Miami native, Brad Matthews is in his second year as a ticket sales rep for the Hurricanes.

He is a graduate of nearby St. Thomas University, where he earned a double major in sports administration and communications. At St. Thomas, Brad was also a relief pitcher for four years on the school’s nationally-ranked baseball team.

He came to the University of Miami in October of 2001 from the Miami Heat, where he was an events and promotions coordinator. Besides selling season tickets for football, basketball and baseball, Brad also assists the Director of Ticket Sales with administrative duties realted to UM’s phone sales room.

He has played an instrumental role in helping the Hurricanes set a record for new football season tickets this year. However, his first love is baseball and he hopes someday to work for UM as director of marketing for baseball.
