Dunking with DeQuan Jones, Jimmy Graham and You

March 29, 2012

CORAL GABLES, Fla.— Be the “Fifth Judge” at tonight’s Denny’s Slam Dunk Championship by voting via Twitter for Miami’s DeQuan Jones as he slams his way through the 24th Annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships live at 9 p.m. on ESPN.

Former Cane Jimmy Graham will be one of four judges at the event, but your Twitter vote from home can help Jones bring the title back to Miami.

Fans can vote on every dunk by simply tweeting #CollegeSlam, followed by the player’s last name and a score between one and 10 (E.g. #CollegeSlam #Jones10). From there, Mass Relevance, the technology leader in social curation and integration, will calculate all fan scores and deliver an average rating via their platform. That rating will be presented as the “Fifth Judge” and paired with four celebrity judges’ scores to make up each player’s total score.

Jones will participate in the Denny’s Slam Dunk Championship along with Miles Plumlee of Duke, Kenny Gabriel of Auburn, David Kyles of Wichita State, Olu Ashaolu of Oregon, William Mosley of Northwestern State and Dark Horse Dunker James Justice of Martin Methodist.

Graham, a current New Orleans Saints tight end, joins four others on the 2012 judges panel to decide the winner of the championship. The other judges include former Duke point guard and two-time national champion Bobby Hurley; current New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas; current LSU defensive tackle and Second Team All-SEC selection Michael Brockers; and last, but certainly not least, YOU!

Annually held in the Final Four city, the event will take place at Fogelman Arena on the campus of Tulane University in New Orleans.
