Georgia Tech Game Is Sold Out

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s basketball game against nationally ranked Georgia Tech this Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in the BankUnited Center is officially sold out.

The sell out is the first of the season and the ninth since Frank Haith took over as head coach in 2004.

The Yellow Jackets (6-1) are ranked No. 21 by the Associated Press and No. 24 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll and boast four players averaging in double-figures led by sophomore guard Lewis Clinch who ranks seventh in the ACC at 17.4 points per game.

Georgia Tech has also been led by a pair of McDonald’s All-Americans in 6-8 freshman forward Thaddeus Young and 6-5 freshman guard Javaris Crittenton. Young ranks second on the team in scoring (14.2 ppg) while Crittenton ranks third in scoring (14.1 ppg) and is third in the league in assists (5.86 apg).

The Hurricanes (4-3) have been led this season by sophomore Jack McClinton who has scored in double-figures in all seven games and leads the ACC in scoring (20.9 ppg), three-point field goal percentage (.556) and three-point field goals per game (3.57). He has scored 20-or-more points in four straight games.

Also averaging in double-figures for the Hurricanes is sophomore Brian Asbury. Asbury ranks second on the team in both scoring (10.7 ppg) and rebounding (6.1 rpg), and leads the team is steals (1.43 spg).

Senior center Anthony King has been monster on the glass pulling down an ACC best 10.1 rebounds per game. King also leads the team in blocks (1.86 bpg) and is the active ACC career leader in the category with 170.

Miami’s defense is holding teams to just 39.8 percent shooting from the field. The Hurricanes are 3-0 at home this season and have defeated at least one ranked opponent in 11 of the last 12 seasons.
