Reuben Ross Named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week
Nov. 24, 2008 Coral Gables, Fla (www.hurricanesports.com) – Junior All-American and reigning 3-meter NCAA Champion diver Reuben Ross took first place in the men’s 3-meter springboard event over the weekend by posting a score of 433.00 in the finals of the 2008 Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta on Saturday, November 22. For his effort, Ross has been named the Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week for the period ending November 23. Ross, the reigning 3-meter diving NCAA champion, finished more than 50 points ahead of second place opponent, Aaron Fleshner of Alabama who posted a score of 380.20. Ross scored a total of 445.40 in the preliminary round where he outscored the field by more than 50 points as well. On Friday November 22, Ross collected a third place award for his performance in the 1-meter springboard event with a total score of 327.80. The Regina, Saskatchewan (Canada) native finished just 10 points out of first place on the day after leading through the preliminary round with a score of 381.10. |
