Dwayne Collins named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Forward Dwayne Collins has been selected the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, December 20, 2009. Collins led the 11-1 Hurricanes to a 2-0 record away from home last week, averaging a double-double of 18.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. With 37 points over the two wins, the 6-foot 8-inch senior moved up four spots among Miami’s all-time leading scorers and is now ranked 26th with 1,053 career points, while his 761 career boards is 10th best in program history. In Wednesday’s road win at Stetson, Collins scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting and a season-high tying15 rebounds.. In Saturday’s neutral site win over Florida Atlantic in the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic, he posted his second-straight double-double, 18th of his career and fourth of the season, with 17 points, 14 boards and a pair of blocks. |
