The ‘Canes are Bowl Bound!

Following our convincing win against Temple, we got aninvitation that made everyone ecstatic — a spot to play versus GeorgiaTech in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville. We entered the Temple game withgreat determination because of the bowl implications that it had. We suredidn’t want to go out and stub our toe and end the season on a sad note,so knowing how important the game was we went out and took care ofbusiness.

The Gator Bowl representatives were watching, so we wantedto put on a good show for them. We knew if we played well for 60minutes and showed them what Miami Hurricane football was all about, wewould be that second team selected to play on New Year’s Day.

In the locker room following the game, two representativesfrom the Gator Bowl came in and addressed the team. It became officialwhen they welcomed our team to play in the Gator Bowl, with a resoundingshout from the team. Coach Davis said “as you can tell by the receptionof the team we gladly accept your invitation.”

Now it’s on to another challenge, the Yellowjackets. Sincewe have this week off to prepare for finals, in between studying guys aretaking some time to come in and watch film on Tech. It’s good to get ahead start on such an explosive team, so you know what they like to dobest and what makes them win. For example, great players such as JoeHamilton, has big-play capabilities so it’s good to know what it is helooks for when he attacks a defense.

This game should be a good one, with good speed and a hardhitting mentallity. We hope to see all you ‘Canes in Jacksonvillecelebrating the New Year’s with the ‘Canes. Until next time…..

From a ‘ Cane to all the ‘Canes fans,

Andre’ King
