CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – The University of Miami will be playing for a National Championship.
Where and When? It doesn’t really matter.
The mathematicians and computers will send the Hurricanes to the Fiesta Bowl, Sugar Bowl or Orange Bowl next Sunday when the BCS announces the official season ending rankings. Regardless of the location, the Hurricanes will contend for the National Championship, as the AP poll is not married to the BCS system leaving the opportunity for a split national championship.
To celebrate the occasion, the University of Miami has declared Friday, December 1st, Hurricane Day. Fans are encouraged to wear “orange” on Friday as Sebastian the Ibis, UM Cheerleaders and the Sunsations will be teaming up with radio station WHYI-FM (Y-100) to spot the “orange” and distribute bowl tickets, basketball season tickets, Hurricane merchandise and many more fantastic prizes to Hurricane fans dressed in orange. The “Bowl Patrol” will be roaming Downtown Miami, Brickell, Coral Gables and Coconut Grove so run to your local retailer and purchase your “orange” gear.
