ESPN’s college football telecast of #1 Miami’s 28-21 victory over #19 Pittsburgh Thursday, Nov. 21 averaged 3,369,000 household impressions and a 4.19 rating, making it the network’s most-viewed Thursday night regular-season college football telecast since 1995 and the highest-rated since 1996.

The Pittsburgh at Miami match-up also stands as ESPN’s most-viewed regular-season college football telecast since 1997 and the highest-rated since 1999.

Last night’s telecast was the best for ESPN in each of the categories since:

? Most-viewed regular-season Thursday night telecast since November 2, 1995: Florida State at Virginia averaged 4,097,000 impressions (6.09 rating).

? Highest-rated regular-season Thursday night telecast since September 5, 1996: Notre Dame at Vanderbilt averaged a 4.70 rating (3,277,000 impressions).

? Most-viewed regular-season telecast since Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997: Florida State at North Carolina averaged 3,713,000 impressions (5.10 rating).

? Highest-rated regular-season telecast since Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999: Notre Dame at Tennessee averaged a 4.70 rating (3,628,000 impressions).

ESPN COLLEGE FOOTBALL AUDIENCES ON THE RISE
ESPN’s college football game coverage is experiencing significant household impressions and ratings growth compared to 2001, including:

? Overall impressions have increased 17%, from 1,464,000 to 1,720,000 and overall ratings are up 15%, from 1.72 to 1.98.

? Impressions for Thursday night telecasts have increased 33% from 1,466,000 to 1,956,000 translating to a ratings increase of 31%, from 1.72 to 2.25.
