Hurricanes Weather Brief Shower While Preparing For Boston College Clash

Sept. 18, 2002

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami football team endured a brief storm that washed across Greentree Practice Field Wednesday as it prepared for this Saturday’s BIG EAST match-up with Boston College at 7:45 p.m. at the Orange Bowl.

Coach Larry Coker thought the downpour, which left the practice field dotted with puddles, might help should the Hurricanes be met with rain this Saturday.

“It was perfect,” Coker said. “We had rain like we might need. So if it rains Saturday, we got a little work in it, so it’s perfect.”

The Boston College game marks the BIG EAST home opener for the Hurricanes and will be nationally televised on ESPN. Weather conditions are a concern for the game as Tropical Storm Isidore is gathering strength in the Caribbean and could be nearing South Florida over the weekend.
