Looking to snap a five-game slide, head coach Frank Haith and the Hurricanes head to Charlottesville with an overall record of 9-13 and a 2-6 mark in league play following a loss at North Carolina Wednesday night.
Miami is led by sophomore Jack McClinton’s team-high 16.0 points per game. One of the ACC’s best shooters, McClinton leads the ACC in three-pointer percentage (.441) and three-pointers made per game (2.67) and ranks second in free throw percentage (.901).
The Hurricanes most consistent player in ACC play has been senior guard Anthony Harris whose turning in a team-high 13.0 points per game in conference games. Harris ranks third on the team overall in scoring with 9.9 points per game behind sophomore forward Brian Asbury (12.0), who leads the team in rebounding (5.6).
The Cavaliers are 14-6 overall on the year and 6-2 in ACC play following a 68-66 overtime victory over No. 8 Duke Thursday evening at John Paul Jones Arena.
Virginia’s lineup boasts two of the ACC’s top scorers in junior guard Sean Singletary (18.9) and senior guard J.R. Reynolds (18.6) who rank second and fourth in the league in scoring, respectively.
