Hurricanes Continue Preparations For Temple

Oct. 31, 2001

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The top-ranked Miami Hurricanes (6-0 overall, 3-0 in the BIG EAST) practiced for two hours in and full pads on Wednesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields on the UM campus for their Homecoming clash with the Temple Owls (2-5, 1-3).

“It was a pretty normal day for a Wednesday and we got a lot done,” said head coach Larry Coker. “We worked on a lot of third-down stuff, some red zone offense and basic fundamentals today. We’re relatively healthy, other than the people we’ve already discussed. I was pleased to see Willis McGahee practicing today. It kind of surprised me that he is already back here.”

McGahee, a redshirt freshman running back, suffered a sprained knee ligament in Miami’s win over West Virginia last Thursday night. He is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game.

The Miami-Temple game will be televised by ESPN Regional Television and can be seen locally on WFOR-TV (Channel 4) in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.
