Marlon Clarke - Athletics - University of Miami Athletics

Marlon Clarke joined the UM Athletic Department in September 2021 as the Director of Event Experience. He was promoted to Director / Marketing and Event Experience in August 2022. In his current role, Clarke oversees the game day experiences for all University of Miami sports with a focus on Men’s Basketball and Football. Clarke also leads the Marketing and Event Experience team while being a liaison between Athletic, Academic and student organization departments.

Prior to Miami, Clarke worked as a Game Experience Manager for the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans during the pandemic. In 2015, Clarke got his start in sports interning as a sports reporter covering the Brooklyn Nets. The following year, he began working for the Brooklyn Nets and Long Island Nets as the Game Experience Coordinator. In that role, he was responsible for innovating the game day experience in the NBA G league through writing game scripts, putting together halftime acts, creating the league’s 1st Co-Ed Hype Team and Kids Dance Team. Simultaneously, Clarke also doubled as the Community Coordinator, working with the Long Island community by providing free basketball related activities to kids and families. Clarke earned several league awards for community service responsibilities and the game experience was voted as one of the league’s best.

Clarke earned his Bachelor’s degree in General Business from Palm Beach State College and his Graduate Certificate from the University of Florida. He is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Clarke is currently enrolled at the University of Miami where he will earn his Master’s in Sports Administration.
