Elijah Perales -  - University of Miami Athletics

Elijah Perales joined the University of Miami as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in June 2024. He oversees the strength and conditioning efforts for the Women’s Soccer, Women’s Tennis, and Men’s Tennis programs.

Before joining the Hurricanes, Perales spent four years at the University of Louisiana – Monroe (ULM). He began there as a graduate assistant for Strength & Conditioning (S&C) and was later promoted to Director of Olympic Sports S&C. At ULM, he managed the S&C programs for Softball, Women’s Soccer, and Men’s & Women’s Golf, and supervised programming for Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Tennis, Volleyball, and Beach Volleyball.

Perales gained valuable experience as an intern with the University of Colorado – Boulder football strength staff during the 2019 season. Earlier in the summer of 2019, he served as an Olympic S&C intern at Clemson University. His career in strength and conditioning began at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where he interned with the S&C staff after spending two years as a walk-on for the UTEP football team.

A native of El Paso, Texas, Perales earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and his master’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Louisiana – Monroe. He holds the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
