Used as a set-up man for the Hurricanes, coming out of the bullpen for a team-leading 37 appearances… Tossed 40 1/3 innings, collecting an ERA of 1.79 with a record of 1-1… Earned a team second-best six saves… Struck out 37 batters against just 18 walks on the year… Had a team-low .127 average against… Against Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) competition, held an earned run average of 0.69 in 16 1/3 innings pitched… Picked up four of his six saves against league opponents… Collected a win in his first appearance of the year, tossing an inning of relief against Rutgers (Feb. 18) – not allowing a hit and striking out one… Earned his first save of the season against Appalachian State (Feb. 24) with an inning tossed and striking out one batter… Went a season-long three innings on the bump against Illinois State (March 8)… Fanned a career-high tying four players and allowed a hit in that contest against the Redbirds… Picked up a save in Miami’s upset win over top-ranked Virginia (May 13), tossing 0.1 innings to close the game…
Sophomore (2010)…
Made 29 appearances on the hill for the `Canes, picking up a 1-0 record and a 1.27 ERA… Combined for two shutout wins out of the bullpen… Posted 24 strikeouts and walked just six batters through 28.1 innings of action… Helped Miami gather a 10-3 win over Texas A&M (June 7) in the NCAA Coral Gables Regional, tossing a career-high 4.2 innings and striking out a career-high four batters, allowing just two hits and a run… Pitched two scoreless innings against Florida Atlantic (Apr. 7) with a strikeout, two hits allowed and one walk in the Hurricanes’ shutout win over the Owls… Threw three scoreless frames at Georgia Tech (May 15) adding three strikeouts in the 9-2 `Canes win…
Freshman (2009)…
Finished the year with a 4.30 earned run average in 22 appearances out of the bullpen… Had a 3.27 earned run average in ACC games… Didn’t allow an earned run in his first seven collegiate appearances (5.0 innings)… Lasted at least one full inning in 15 of his 22 appearances, including two-inning outings vs. Clemson (Apr. 11) and FSU (May 21)… Prior to the season finale, had a 2.49 earned run average … Recorded a career high three strikeouts in a victory vs. Mount St. Mary’s on March 4 … Had only one game where he allowed more than two earned runs…

Played for Angel Herrera at Killian Senior High School… Named First Team All-Dade his senior year after earning a record of 5-2 with a 1.11 ERA and 50 strikeouts… Went 4-1 with a 2.14 ERA and 45 strikeouts as a junior in 2007, earning Third Team All-Dade… Led team to a 16-7 record in 2008 and an 18-6 mark in 2007… Played alongside fellow UM sophomore Daniel Miranda at Killian…
