CAREER: One of the team’s most experienced veterans…will tryto regain his starting spot at strongside linebacker, where he startedin 2002…a special teams star for the Hurricanes throughout hiscareer…has the intensity, talent and work ethic to develop into anoutstanding linebacker…criminology major.
2004 (JUNIOR): Returned to starting lineup and played in 10 games, making nine starts at both strongside (six) and middle linebacker (three)…Ranked second on the team with 111 tackles (37 solo), adding 13 tackles for loss, eight QB pressures, four sacks, one forced fumble and three pass breakups…Voted honorable mention All-ACC…Selected as the team’s Linebacker of the Year…Started at strongside linebacker in the season opener vs. Florida State and recorded 11 tackles, including a half sack and 2 QB pressures…Made 8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and another half sack vs. Louisiana Tech…Led the team with a career-high 17 tackles, including 2 tackles for loss, 1 QB pressure and 2 pass breakups at Houston…Moved to middle linebacker at Georgia Tech, recording 8 tackles and 1 QB pressure…Returned to strongside linebacker vs. Louisville and registered 15 tackles, including 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, 1 QB pressure and 2 pass breakups…Made 12 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack at NC State…Started at strongside linebacker and made 10 tackles and 1 tackle for loss at North Carolina…Moved back to middle linebacker for the Clemson game and recorded 12 tackles, as well as 2 QB pressures and 1 pass breakup…Remained at middle linebacker for Virginia game in a revamped linebacking corps that included freshmen Jon Beason and Romeo Davis on both sides of him. 2003 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 12 games, making 23 tackles(16 solos)…had one stop for a loss of three yards and broke up apass…made a season-high eight tackles (five solos) in the win overSyracuse…had four stops in the win at Florida State…made twotackles against Boston College, Virginia Tech and Rutgers…had onetackles in games against Florida, East Carolina, Temple andTennessee…was limited by a knee injury that slowed him through-outpreseason practices and caused him to miss the opener againstLouisiana Tech.
2002 (FRESHMAN): Started six games, including the final fourgames of the season, at strongside linebacker…made 43 tackles(24 solos), eight tackles for losses (18 yards), one forced fumbleand two passes broken up…made eight stops (two solos), includingtwo for losses (three yards), in the Fiesta Bowl against OhioState…made five tackles (three solos), had 1.5 tackles for lossesand forced a fumble against Virginia Tech…made two tackles,assisting on a tackle for a loss, at Syracuse…made one solo tackleagainst Pittsburgh…made three tackles and broke up a pass in the26-3 win at Tennessee…had five tackles (four solos) and broke upa pass in the win at Rutgers…had a season-high 10 tackles (sixsolos) and a tackle for a loss of six yards in the win at WestVirginia…had one solo tackle against Florida State…made two tackles(both assists) against Connecticut…had four tackles (threesolos) and two stops for losses in the win over Boston College, hisfirst career start…made two tackles in the victory atFlorida…debuted against Florida A&M but did not make a tackle.
