Second highest scorer with 234 points… proved himself as a rebounder… 19-7 season… 9-2 against in-state rivals… beat three local semi-pro teams… played Princeton in featured match in Orange Bowl Spirits Carnival… scored 19 points against University of Florida, including driving lay-up with only eight second remaining for a 44-42 win… won first undisputed state basketball title in school history
As a Sophomore (1947-48)
Part of the starting five along with Tony Yovicsin, Bob “Whitey” Campbell, Abe Friedman, and Ralph Fieler… 70 points for the season…11-7 season… beat Tampa Univeristy 58-46 in second game of the seson… beat University of Florida 67-50…. Defeated Pitt 43-40… cancelled games against University of Havana, University of Cincinnati, and Eastern Kentucky
As a Freshman (1946-47)
Third-highest scorer on the team with 168 points… season marked the return of full scale Varsity Basketball… team amassed a total of 1,243 points…. 18-6 season… part of a fast-break offense and man-to-man defense… year that “Basketball Under the Stars” became a reality as a portable court was erected in front of The Orange Bowl’s south stands… 12-game winning streak… team travelled to Bowling Green, Kentucky to represent the Georgia-Alabama- Florida district in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament
Personal: From Bronx, NY… graduate in Business Administration… received BBA in Management
