Clyde B. McCoy, Ph.D. has served the University of Miami in various capacities for more than three decades.
In this role as Faculty Athletic Representative, Dr. McCoy is responsible for ensuring academic integrity, facilitating institutional control of intercollegiate athletics and enhancing the student-athlete experience, as well as representing the University to the NCAA, the ACC and other organizations involving student athletics. Within the ACC, he is the voting delegate representing the University of Miami and therefore part of the governing body of the Conference and will serve as an officer for the next four years including President in 2009-2010.
Dr. McCoy has established drug education, testing and treatment programs that serve as a model for colleges and universities throughout the United States.
During his tenure at the University he has established a successful career and international reputation in research, teaching and administration. He has been honored as a Distinguished Alumni at the University of Cincinnati, and Most Outstanding Faculty Athletic Representative by the American Football Foundation and is proud to be a member of University of Miami’s Iron Arrow and Phi Beta Delta, Honor Society for International Scholars.
