CAREER: Solid athlete who is beginning to scratch the surface of his potential…saw action in short yardage situations in 2003…suffered a dislocated elbow in spring practice this past March…has soft hands, good lateral speed and a keen knowledge of the game…has shown excellent blocking ability, displaying good technique…recovered from a serious illness that kept him out of preseason practices…marketing major.

2003 (SOPHOMORE): Played the final 10 games of the season for Miami…was the third tight end and saw quality time on Miami’s special teams.

2002 (FRESHMAN): Played in four games (Florida, Boston College, Connecticut and Rutgers)…made one catch, a 14-yard gain against Connecticut.

2001 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the 2001 season with a redshirt and played on the Hurricanes’ scout team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Roundout Valley High…an exceptional two-way player (defensive end and tight end) in high school…as a senior in 2000, caught 28 passes for 473 yards (16.8 avg.) and 6 touchdowns…defensively as a senior, had 103 tackles, 23 quarterback sacks, three forced fumbles and 38 quarterback hurries…2000 Section 9 Most Valuable Player…rated the No. 2 prospect overall in the state of New York by SuperPrep…a PrepStar All-American…first-team All-Sectional at tight end and defensive end…named Player of the Year by the Times-Herald Record…Madison Square Garden Heisman All-Star…New York State Class B Player of the Year…led his team to the 2000 Class 3A State Championship in an 11-2 season…as a junior in 1999, had 31 catches for 420 yards and four touchdowns, in addition to posting 78 tackles and 8 quarterback sacks on defense…an extremely intelligent player who is known as a “coach on the field” by his coaching staff…an excellent student who carried a 3.0 grade-point average…Honor Roll student…member of Junior National Honor Society…timed at 4.7 in the 40…coached by Jim Malak.
