CAREER: One of the team’s most impressive all-purpose players…has a rare combination of breakaway speed, a quick burst, an impressive change of pace and good catching ability…can elude tacklers in the open field or in traffic…has a knack for making tacklers miss…returns punts for the Hurricanes and is a threat to take it the distance every time he touches the ball…had a school-record 92-yard punt return against Boston College last season…has been called by head coach Larry Coker “the most exciting player I’ve ever coached”…ranks fourth on the UM career punt return yards list (576)…liberal arts major.

2003 (SOPHOMORE): A home run threat each time he touched the ball in 2003…made 24 catches for 322 yards (13.4 avg.)…returned 23 punts for 240 yards (10.4 avg.) and a touchdown…found the end zone three times: on a 50-yard touchdown catch against East Carolina, on a school-record 92-yard punt return at Boston College and on a 45-yard touchdown catch at Pittsburgh…caught two passes for 55 yards, including a 30-yard reception in the season opener at Louisiana Tech…made two catches for eight yards against Florida…his four receptions for 83 yards against ECU marked career highs at the time…caught one pass for 12 yards at Boston College and two passes for 26 yards against West Virginia…made two catches for 14 yards at Florida State before being knocked out of the game early in the second quarter…missed the following game with Temple after being treated for bruised lungs…returned to catch four passes for 38 yards at Virginia Tech…set a new career high with five receptions against Tennessee for 41 yards…missed the Syracuse game due to injury…caught two passes for 45 yards and one touchdown against Pittsburgh…returned three punts for 23 yards and did not make a catch in the FedEx Orange Bowl Classic against Florida State.

2002 (FRESHMAN): Started four games as the punt return man and three games at flanker…finished the season with 19 receptions for 340 yards (17.9 ypc) and two touchdowns…returned 27 punts for 392 yards (14.5 ypr)…rushed four times for 69 yards and a touchdown…had a career-best five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown in the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State…also returned punts twice for 56 yards, including a key 50-yarder in the fourth quarter to set up the tying field goal, against the Buckeyes…put the Hurricanes ahead early, 7-0, with a 24-yard touchdown catch in the Fiesta Bowl…caught two passes for 61 yards, including a 58-yard catch, and returned two punts for 72 yards against Virginia Tech…returned a punt 43 yards to set up Miami’s first touchdown against the Hokies…caught a pass for 19 yards and returned two punts for 46 yards, including a 48-yarder, against Pittsburgh…caught one pass for 14 yards and rushed once for seven yards in the win over Tennessee…averaged 18.0 yards on three punt returns (54 yards) against the Vols…returned two punts for 15 yards in the win at Rutgers…had a 64-yard punt return for a touchdown against Rutgers erased by a penalty…returned one punt for 11 yards at West Virginia…returned three punts for 12 yards against Florida State…had what would have been a crucial 53-yard pass play against Florida State nullified by a penalty in the third quarter…had one punt return for six yards against Connecticut…caught four passes for 76 yards (including a 30-yarder) in the win over Temple…also returned two punts for 42 yards against the Owls…made one catch for 18 yards in the 41-16 win at Florida…made five punt returns for 75 yards (including a 24-yarder) and caught two passes for 43 yards (including a 32-yard touchdown catch), in addition to running 46 yards for a touchdown on a reverse, in the season opener against Florida A&M.

2001 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the 2001 season with a redshirt and played on the Hurricanes’ scout team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Miami Senior…the No. 4 prospect in Dade County by the Miami Herald, as well as No. 10 in the state…rated the No. 67 overall prospect in Florida, regardless of position, by SuperPrep… listed as the No. 3 athlete on the Florida Times-Union Super 75 list… listed as the No. 81 overall player in the South by BorderWars.com… although his team went 7-6 during his senior season, he led them to the District title and the third round of the Class 6A Playoffs…was perhaps the most explosive running and passing quarterback in Florida during the 2000 season, passing for 2,201 yards and rushing for 613 yards…a first-team Class 6A selection in 2000…during his junior season of 1999, passed for 1,400 yards and 10 touchdowns with just five interceptions while completing 78 of 136 passes… rushed 60 times for 600 yards and six touchdowns in 1999…had 10 tackles during the 1999 season…coached by Earl Tillman.
